Our Studios and Equipment

The Recording Workshop’s facilities have been designed and optimized with prime concern for the student’s learning benefit.

setting the micsFound on our campus are six well-equipped studios, a Pro Tools lab with individual stations, a lecture room, student lounge and administrative offices.
And also located on campus are several types of
affordable student housing. This centralized layout allows for convenient class scheduling. Our students can virtually eat, breathe and sleep audio production immersed in this educational retreat.

Our six studios are specialized to represent different segments of the recording industry. Forgoing the whirlwind of hype that often blows around the topic of equipment selection, Recording Workshop students are truly prepped for the many latitudes they will navigate in the “real world” after graduation.

Our Staff

The Recording Workshop has brought together a very select team of professionals. The skills, talents and personalities that make up this group are a vital force behind our success.

QuotesOur instructor staff includes exceptional audio engineering talent recruited from across the country. They bring with them a variety of specialties. Music recording and mixing, CD mastering, radio and sound-for-picture production are some of the studio skills they share with our students. Others on our faculty bring technical depth in live concert sound, acoustic design and studio construction, equipment installation, maintenance and repair, and studio computer systems support.

Also found on the Recording Workshop staff are resident experts in record production, songwriting and performance, music publishing and copyright procedures, artist management and record company operations. And our roster of visiting lecturers provides additional areas of expertise.

The Recording Workshop as an institution, and members of its faculty have received honors and awards from noted music industry publications. And regular participation in trade organization seminars and events is customary for our senior engineers. The entire faculty is dedicated to the continued development of their professional skills.

Our staff knows their craft, and they know how to clearly communicate it to others. Patience, friendliness and a sincere concern for the student are traits found in Recording Workshop instructors.
